The Place Where I Feel In Place: A Con

Well, today was my second day of CoastCon 28. I got to play DnD with Dave Arneson by a raffle I won. I was happy. I also played today and yesterday an old campaign revived and renewed for 3.5 called BlackMoor. I'm already a level 2. Anyways, when I wasn't playing Dnd, I was playing a card game called Munchkin. When neither of those two were going on, I searched for other games to play when I couldn't find any. I decided to go to a panel room, and wouldn't you know it, I pass a video room showing anime. So, needless to say, I went and watched anime until midnight. This is my 4th year coming to CoastCon, so I have gotten to know a lot of people. In fact, we are supposed to finish a game of Marvel today(time cross over). This has been a good day.
The only thing I have to say that I didn't like was when I was idle. I regressed to thinking about things that were troubling me in the world outside the convention. There was a lot of idle time even when in the middle of game due to people constantly coming and going to talk to the people playing especially when playing Munchkin.

White Space Must Shrink (Dying would be nice but I would be happy with shrinking)

Ok, an entry that isn't depressing. I know that most of you have noticed a trend with companies to create a lot of white space on their sites because they are targetting users with 800x600 pixels in their settings. Well, obviously, they don't realize that there is a size larger than an 8x6. It's frustrating when you go to hp.com, canon.com, or even tigerdirect.com and see excessive white space that really shouldn't be there. It would be nice if they put something in there (Example: A border, color, and etc) or made it so that their sites start targetting 1024x768. I do realize that there are people who have problems reading that size. However, it doesn't mean that their text size has to change just because they adjusted it. One only has to adjust the pixels of the width and nothing more or fill it with something that doesn't make it so unattractive. It's too bad that the detecting the window size isn't always accurate.
